Drs. Michelle Merrill and Paul English of Scientists Rebellion Turtle Island West joined the SF Bay Area Third Act Working Group and 1000 Grandmothers on July 9th at Harry Bridges Plaza to protest Citbank’s financial support of the fossil fuel industry.

Enlightened seniors bring the wisdom…

With approximately 80 attendees, we marched to a Citibank branch in downtown SF to let Citibank know that “the future of the world’s children and grandchildren matter more than Citi’s profits”!  Entertained by a brass band (which also led the march) and some great motivational speakers, the day was in solidarity with actions in New York City and elsewhere in the country as part of the Summer of Heat Elder’s week.  This summer has seen temperatures break records in multiple locations, resulting in high rates of emergency room visits for heat illness.
